P.E. Coach
Sue is in her third year at Rincon but came to the school with an extensive resume. Sue previously served as the head coach for both the Northern Arizona University and Air Force Academy women’s basketball programs. But along the way, she started looking for something different. Ultimately, the staff and students at Rincon are what drew her in and are her favorite parts of working there.
Sue is an avid cyclist, traveler, reader, and loves anything sporty. She also plays Fantasy Football and, although she doesn’t have a favorite NFL team, she roots for any team that plays against the Dallas Cowboys.
Band Teacher
Dan joined the Rincon High staff in the Fall of 2020 but has been a musician his whole life. The band teacher, who came to Tucson Unified after working at a charter school, believes music is really important for individual expression. At the high school level, being involved in a music class can help students feel what it’s like to belong to something and create a community.
Dan’s favorite thing about working at Rincon is working with students.
“It’s a blessing to work here with them,” Dan said.
AP Spanish Teacher
Alicia is a seven-year veteran at Rincon High, and her favorite thing about work is her students. She loves coming in and seeing their growth and watching their world expand. She would recommend Rincon to anyone interested due to their diverse student population and caring teachers. She would also highlight the variety of programs available at Rincon.
Outside of work, Alicia likes yoga and taekwondo. She’s currently a yellow belt, but she’s trying to catch up to her two children, who are black belts.
